A Multimaterial Topology Optimization Considering the PM Nonlinearity

Density-based topology optimization (TO) methodologies in magnetostatics interpolate either the magnetic permeability $\mu $ or reluctivity notation="LaTeX">$\nu to define intermediate materials and compute problem sensitivities. These choices may lack physical interpretation are not suited model realistic permanent magnets. This work proposes interpolation of vector polarization notation="LaTeX">$\boldsymbol {m}$ as a more general alternative, which can any material. It is then applied multimaterial TO rotor magnet synchronous machine. The case an ideal with constant compared that AlNiCo. results show considering nonlinearity significantly impact optimized geometry.
